Programs

Morning time

  • Free playtime

Both classes have one hour of free playtime, both outdoors and indoors. We've designed a system where the Kaze Group (1-2 years) and Hana Group (2-5 years) have separate outdoor times to ensure everyone can comfortably use the space.

  • Circle time

  • Lunch

  • Storytime - both Japanese and English children’s books are read. At times, volunteers may come and read books for the children.

Afternoon time

  • Nap
Children under 3 years old: will nap for around two hours.
Children over 3 years old who no longer need a nap, can quietly spend time watching child-friendly shows on a projector, playing puzzles, or do some drawing.

  • Snacks

  • Free playtime

Opening Time

Monday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Class size

As required under CDSS Small Family Daycare rules, we are permitted to take care of up to 6 children.

Teacher-children ratio:
1 Teacher for every 6 children.
We have 3 or 4 teachers

Circle Time:
During circle time, Kaze and Hana Groups separate and interact through singing, yoga, dancing, quizzes, or sharing stories and talking about upcoming events or birthdays.

Afternoon Snacks and Drinks

Afternoon snacks include milk and treats (fruits, crackers, smoothies, baked goods, etc). Water and barley tea will be available to the children throughout the day to keep them hydrated.

Lunch

For lunch, you can choose either to bring your child’s lunch or join our daycare lunch program for a small additional fee. At the daycare, we purchase meals twice a week from a company called Nurture Life, and for the other two days, meals are prepared at the daycare. Both options feature low salt and sugar content and include protein, along with two types of vegetables or fruits.

For children with wheat allergies, it's challenging for us to prepare alternatives, so we ask parents to bring their own lunch. If a child is vegetarian or has specific dietary restrictions, we also request that parents bring their own lunch. For other food allergies, please consult with us and we can decide on a suitable alternative.

Interaction with parents and teachers

We use a smartphone app for messaging and sharing photos. Updates about your child's day and any changes in their health condition will be communicated at pick-up time.

Learning Note & File

For children aged 2 and older who attend four times a week, individual learning notebooks are provided. These are updated about once a month by the teachers, recording observations about the child's development and curiosity. These learning notebooks are kept at the daycare and are available for you to view at any time. They will be given to you when your child graduates from the daycare.
